London Fashion Week

London Fashion Week. I'm not quite sure what to say to give anyone the understanding of how thrilling it was for me to experience this! London Fashion week is spread over five days, with 56 catwalk shows and 20 dazzling presentations to take place in this timeThis event has been something that has been the stuff of only dreams for me, hiding between the dog-eared pages of my read and re-read vogue magazines, and gawked at over the likes of instagram and bloglovin'. Jacob surprised me with an impromptu trip to the Strand, conveniently located just around the corner from Somerset House, which holds the catwalk show space and hosts further presentations alongside the designer exhibitions. Just to be there soaking up the atmosphere was incredible. The people, the colours and the getups! Every outfit I laid my eyes on made me cringe at my own attire (I don't think I've ever seen so much Givenchy in my life!). I'm hoping to be able to attend a few events when spring fashion week comes around, keep your fingers crossed!

Smitten.

Today was one of those very beautiful, very rare sunny days! You have no idea how good it was to feel the sunshine warming my face (and my heart!). One of the things I miss most about Australia is the heat, but living in the colder weather has really helped me to appreciate the beauty of a simple sunny day. I was determined to make the most of the good weather, so we spent the morning in Covent Garden and stumbled upon this display. It was brought to life on Valentines day by the British Heart Foundation to promote the awareness of having a healthy heart (speaking of, Jacob spoiled me with dinner and a stunning- and sentimental Pandora bracelet which I adore). The towering mesh sculptures spell the word love, and in return for making a donation you receive a 'love lock' on which you write a message to your loved one and lock it to the frame, throwing away the key. They say this symbolises 'love locked forever'. I'm sure most of you can just imagine me squealing with delight at the thought of such an idea, me being the hopeless romantic that I am, and it was a lovely memory to be able to share with my Jacob. So far the sculpture has had over 8,500 love locks attached to it, raising over £28,000 for the charity.

Covent Garden

Despite the cold, I am settling into my new home quite well. The change of pace in lifestyle compared toAustralia has been quite dramatic, but there is so much to appreciate living in a place that holds so much history. I think I can safely say that Covent Garden is one of my favourite places in London. It's busteling streets are overflowing with shops, cafes and bars and you are forever getting lost down side streets and alleys who's stores are home to the quirkiest of finds! There's such a rich culture here in London, and Covent Garden really fosters that atmosphere. Jacob and I took these snaps whilst exploring the markets and being entertained by hoards of live music and street performers.   It is such an amazing city I live in, being on the doorstep of the rest of Europe. We have an upcoming trip to Amsterdam planned which we are very excited about! I am so lucky to be here surrounded by people who love me and I am thankful for that every day.
